CTSO WorkReady
Classroom-ready time tracking for CTE programs, school-based enterprises, and internships.
- Product owner: Buena Career Alliance (BCA), a nonprofit dedicated to CTE tools and logistical support
- Platform: CTSOsupport.org
- Developed by William "Bill" Conroy
- School: Buena High School
- Program: Buena DECA
Purpose
CTSO WorkReady helps CTE teachers, advisors, and coordinators at schools and internship programs automate hour tracking, reflections, HR review, certificates, reference letters, and year-end documentation—without building everything from scratch.
The platform is designed to be simple for teachers while giving third- and fourth-year students and Lab Assistants real-world leadership experience through the student HR portal: shift review, peer feedback, reminders, and accountability workflows under teacher oversight.
FERPA & Data Privacy
Student privacy is central to CTSO WorkReady. The application is built to minimize long-term data retention on BCA servers.
- Final student records are intended to live in the teacher's district-controlled Google Sheet or Microsoft workbook—not on BCA infrastructure.
- HR-facing views use Worker IDs instead of full Student IDs where possible.
- Redacted compliance reports support FERPA-aware evidence sharing.
- BCA controls front-end access; teachers retain ownership of their spreadsheet ecosystem.
During the Free in Beta pilot, use sample data only. Do not enter real student information in local test builds.
How It Works
BCA hosts and maintains the CTSO WorkReady front end through CTSOsupport.org. Teachers connect their own Google Apps Script or Microsoft Power Automate webhook so clock events, hours, and reports flow into spreadsheets the school district already controls.
Access to the hosted interface is managed by BCA. Even during the $0 beta pilot, onboarding follows the same subscription workflow used for paid plans—so schools are ready when routing, NFC kits, and renewals go live.
